Sitophobia: The Fear of Food or Food Eating



Sitophobia is the abnormal and persistent fear of food or food eating.  This phobia may be brought on by certain medical conditions and treatments that cause severe stomach upset such as digestive disorders and chemotherapy.  Sitophobia also goes hand in hand with Anorexia.  This phobia is also known as Cibophobia.
A phobia is a strong, persistent fear of situations, objects, activities or persons.  The main symptom is an excessive and unreasonable desire to avoid the feared subject. Other phobia symptoms include shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat, sweating, nausea, and an overall feeling of dread.  Phobias are the most common form of anxiety disorders.

Soceraphobia: The Fear of Parents-in-Law



Soceraphobia is the abnormal and persistent fear of parents-in-law.  The term Soceraphobia may also be used to describe anxiousness felt with any in-law.

Potophobia: The Fear of Alcohol



Potophobia is the abnormal and persistent fear of alcohol.  Those who suffer from this phobia may also fear anyone who consumes or has consumed alcohol.  They will also avoid places where there is a possibility of being exposed to alcohol.  Potophobia is also known as Methyphobia and is closely related to Dipsophobia, the fear of drinking alcohol.

Potamophobia: The Fear of Rivers or Running Water



Potamophobia is the abnormal and persistent fear of rivers or running water.  This phobia could be caused by a traumatic experience such as almost drowning or witnessing a drowning.  Potamophobia may also be caused by nightmares involving rivers or running water.
