Noctiphobia is the abnormal and persistent fear of night and darkness.  It is also known as Nyctophobia.  This phobia can be triggered by horror movies and a fear of the unknown things lurking in the darkness.  Noctiphobia is also known as Nyctophobia.
A phobia is a strong, persistent fear of situations, objects, activities or persons.  The main symptom is an excessive and unreasonable desire to avoid the feared subject. Neophobia is the abnormal and persistent fear of anything new or new experiences.  It is also known as Cainophobia and Cainotophobia.

Motorphobia: The Fear of Automobiles


Motorphobia is the abnormal and persistent fear of automobiles or traveling by automobile.  There are three elements to this phobia. Claustrophobia, the fear of confined spaces, is the first element.  This can be caused by just being in the car and can be aggravated by traffic jams and high volumes of traffic on multilane streets.  The second element is a fear of crashing and the third element is a fear of not being in control.

Monopathophobia is the abnormal and persistent fear of a definite disease.  Those who suffer from this phobia are afraid of illnesses in specific parts of the body or a specific disease.  Monopathophobia is closely related to Pathophobia-The Fear of Disease, Rectophobia-The Fear of the Rectum or Rectal Disease, Syphilophobia-The Fear of Syphilis, Dermatosiophobia-The Fear of Skin Disease, Meningitophobia-The Fear of Brain Disease and Albuminurophobia-The Fear of Kidney Disease.

The Truth Behind Homophobia


Do you suffer from Homophobia?  Homophobia is the irrational fear of homosexuality, and Richard Ryan, a professor of psychology at the University of Rochester, has produced new research in order to gain insight into the trigger of this phobia.  He believes that those who suffer from this phobia are at war with themselves about their sexuality.
