Hypengyophobia: The Fear of Responsibility

Taking Responsibility: Self-Reliance and the Accountable LifeHypengyophobia is the abnormal, excessive and persistent fear of responsibility.  Being responsible can be stressful and time consuming and some people may not be capable of handling any kind of responsibility.  These people may eventually develop an actual phobia to responsibility.  Those who suffer from Hypengyophobia may neglect all responsibilities or actively blame others when something negative occurs because they don’t take responsibility.

A phobia is a strong, persistent fear of situations, objects, activities or persons.  The main symptom is an excessive and unreasonable desire to avoid the feared subject. Other phobia symptoms include shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat, sweating, nausea, and an overall feeling of dread.  Phobias are the most common form of anxiety disorders.

If you suffer from Hypengyophobia  or if you know someone who does please share your story.  How did it begin and how does it affect your life?
