Atelophobia: The Fear of Imperfection


Atelophobia is the abnormal and persistent fear of imperfection.

Liticaphobia: The Fear of Lawsuits


Liticaphobia is the abnormal and persistent fear of lawsuits.  I’m sure after you have been through one, especially one with a not so favorable outcome you wouldn’t ever want to have to go through it again.

Lilapsophobia: The Fear of Tornadoes and Hurricanes

Lilapsophobia is the abnormal and persistent fear of tornadoes and hurricanes. Tornadoes have been in the news a lot over the last few weeks and I can’t imagine having to go through what the people in the path of these storms have had to go through. The devastation and destruction is absolutely unbelievable. Many of these people will suffer from Lilapsophobia . Same goes for many of the hurricane survivors. Unfortunately many of the people who watched the coverage of all these storms may also begin to suffer from this phobia. They start realizing that the same thing could happen where they live and they dwell on it day after day until their fear is out of control.

Kymophobia: The Fear of Waves


Kymophobia is the abnormal and persistent fear of waves.  This fear may come from being completely traumatized by a big wave or may simply come from the fear of the unknown and what could happen.  Watching the coverage of the Tsunami after the big earthquake in Japan could instilled fear into a lot of people.

Katagelophobia: The Fear of Ridicule


Katagelophobia is the abnormal and persistent fear of ridicule.  No one likes to be ridiculed, but those with this phobia will isolate themselves and avoid any situation that might cause them to be ridiculed.
