Scriptophobia: The Fear of Writing or Writing in Public

Scriptophobia is the abnormal and persistent fear of writing or writing in public. I’ve heard of writers developing this phobia after feeling they have failed in their careers.  They feel that if they stop writing all together then they can’t fail and they will no longer have to face the rejection that every writer is all too familiar with.  This phobia can affect anyone at any time.  Read personal stories of those who suffer from Scriptophobia here.
A phobia is a strong, persistent fear of situations, objects, activities or persons.  The main symptom is an excessive and unreasonable desire to avoid the feared subject. Other phobia symptoms include shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat, sweating, nausea, and an overall feeling of dread.  Phobias are the most common form of anxiety disorders.
Do you suffer from Scriptophobia?  Please share your story.  How was it triggered and how does it affect your life?
