Philematophobia: The Fear of Kissing

Philematophbobia is the abnormal and persistent fear of kissing.  This phobia is common in young and inexperienced kissers and usually goes away after they get more experience.  In some cases it can become more severe, especially when the fear of kissing is caused by the fear of germs, touch or intimacy. Philematophobia is also known as Philemaphobia.
A phobia is a strong, persistent fear of situations, objects, activities or persons.  The main symptom is an excessive and unreasonable desire to avoid the feared subject. Other phobia symptoms include shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat, sweating, nausea, and an overall feeling of dread.  Phobias are the most common form of anxiety disorders.
