Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia is the irrational fear of the number 666. This fear originated from the bible verse Revelation 13:18 that says, "Here is wisdom. Let him that has understanding count the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and his number is six hundred and sixty-six. This verse associates the number 666 with Satan and the antichrist and because of this, people fear it.
Some people fear this number so much that they refuse to live at an address if the house number is 666. Another example of this fear is that in 2006 women were extremely apprehensive and nervous about having their babies on June 6.
Some may think it is silly to fear a number, but a phobia is never silly. We are all afraid of something and if you say that you are not then you're lying. We all have our weaknesses and no one can be strong all of the time. If you suffer from this phobias please share your story.
