Urophobia: The Fear of Urine or Urinating

The Gift of FearUrophobia is the irrational and persistent fear of urine or urinating.  If you suffer from this phobia, you are not alone.  This is surprisingly one of the most common phobias.

A phobia is a strong, persistent fear of situations, objects, activities or persons.  The main symptom is an excessive and unreasonable desire to avoid the feared subject. Other phobia symptoms include shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat, sweating, nausea, and an overall feeling of dread.  Phobias are the most common form of anxiety disorders.

A negative experience while urinating  could be a possible cause of Urophobia, but there’s not a lot of information on this phobia.  So if you suffer from this Urophobia please share your story.  How was it triggered and how does it affect your life?
