Xerophobia: Fear of Dryness

The Pop-Up Book of PhobiasXerophobia is the irrational and persistent fear of dryness or dry places.  The desert is totally off limits to those who suffer from this phobia.  Any place is off limits if they fear they won’t be able to get an adequate water supply.

A phobia is a strong, persistent fear of situations, objects, activities or persons.  The main symptom is an excessive and unreasonable desire to avoid the feared subject. Other phobia symptoms include shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat, sweating, nausea, and an overall feeling of dread.  Phobias are the most common form of anxiety disorders.

There’s not a lot of accurate information on this one.  If you have Xerophobia, please share your story.  How was it triggered and how does it affect your life.

i dont no if i have it.. because i don't know the difference between fear or phobia. i don't like the feeling of many dry things. I'm not sure about dry places. I've been to Arizona 2 times and i really didn't have a problem. The air was dry and it irratated my skin and it was weird but no that much of a problem. i don't like chalk or chalk boards (especially when it screechs when you write) i don't like touching walls and dryer lint, and cotton i also don't like touching flour,or powder but the thing that creeps me out the most is chalk!
