Magierocophobia: The Fear of Cooking

CookingMagierocophobia is the extreme and irrational fear of cooking. Some may only fear cooking for many people while others with the phobia may be afraid to cook something small for themselves.  This phobia can be triggered by the fear of making someone sick with their food, the food being inedible, the food looking bad, the fear of the cooking process or even the fear of the recipe itself.

A phobia is a strong, persistent fear of situations, objects, activities or persons.  The main symptom is an excessive and unreasonable desire to avoid the feared subject. Other phobia symptoms include shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat, sweating, nausea, and an overall feeling of dread.  Phobias are the most common form of anxiety disorders.

Do you suffer from Magierocophobia?  Please share your story.  How does it affect your life and how was it triggered?
