Contreltophobia: The Fear of Sexual Abuse

Contreltophobia is the abnormal and persistent fear of sexual abuse. Most people who suffer from this phobia have had a past link between emotional trauma and sexual abuse but those with Contreltophobia don’t have to personally experience sexual abuse to suffer from the phobia. It can be triggered by just watching sexual abuse on T.V. Contreltophobia is also known as Agraphobia.

A phobia is a strong, persistent fear of situations, objects, activities or persons.  The main symptom is an excessive and unreasonable desire to avoid the feared subject. Other phobia symptoms include shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat, sweating, nausea, and an overall feeling of dread.  Phobias are the most common form of anxiety disorders.

Do you suffer from Contreltophobia?  Please share your story.  How was it triggered and how does it affect your life?
